Amsterdam

Amsterdam's name derives from Amstelredamme, indicative of the city's origin as a dam of the river Amstel, which runs through the city. Amsterdam was one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age, where some hidden and some more noticeable signs of which are scattered around the city, ready for attentive travellers to discover. Amsterdam is home to more than one hundred kilometres of canals, offering numerous photographic opportunities.
